Everyone is going to mess up this year
It’s the start of a new year!
And whatever your plans and dreams are for this coming year, I’d like to offer a gentle reminder that…
Everyone is going to mess up SO MUCH this year.
And that’s totally normally and OK!
We all lose our cool sometimes and say the wrong thing.
And get angry over stuff that we know shouldn’t matter.
Instead of beating ourselves up over inevitable stumbles like these, we can say this mantra when the going gets hard (or even when it’s not that hard but we’re grumpy anyway):
“I messed up again! Nothing is wrong with me, and it’s all part of the plan.”
This is a quick and easy way to remind ourselves that we’re going to make mistakes (I’ve made at least 23 mistakes since I started writing this email!).
And instead of letting that fact derail our day/month/year, we can put each stumble into context.
Because as big and scary as any mistake might feel in the moment, it’ll likely feel tiny and inconsequential (if we remember it at all) by the end of the year.
We all get 365 days in 2025 whether we’re dwelling on our mistakes, or reaching for our goals.
How do you want to use your year?
