Is love all you need in your relationship?
Allergies are kicking my butt today, and I’ve tried almost everything I can think of: Allegra, Flonase, Tylenol, napping.
Later I’ll pour salt water through my nostrils — even if it doesn’t work, all that water rushing where water is not meant to rush should at least distract me from the nasal pressure!
I hate allergies so much that if someone offered me a magic cure for them, I’d pony up in a heartbeat.
But I know there isn’t a magic cure-all.
Just like love isn’t a magic cure-all (segue alert!), despite what The Beatles say.
I don’t think anyone REALLY thinks that love is all you need in a relationship, but I keep hearing advice like: “If you love someone, the relationship should feel easy.”
Or, “When you love someone enough, you're excited to put in the work.”
Within those comments is an idea that I think some people DO believe: If you and your partner love each other enough, your relationship shouldn't feel hard.
I don’t believe this idea either.
If you’d like to hear why — and learn two steps that I recommend every couple take if they want to feel more love in their relationship — check out my latest podcast episode below.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a date with some salt water.
